The Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education (IFATE) is currently tendering for a new provider of its External Quality Assurance service from May 2019. At this point, it is anticipated that a per apprentice charge will be imposed for all EPA carried out under an apprenticeship standard.
The level is yet to be confirmed although a charge in the region of £56 per apprentice has been suggested. Once the charge is confirmed, it will be mandatory for all EPA conducted after 1 May 2019, irrespective of when the assessment was booked. NET has no control over these charges and will be required to pass the charge in full to the EQA provider.
NET will add the charges to centre invoices monthly for all in scope assessments and centres will need to adjust their invoices for assessment accordingly.
We will confirm more details as soon as the amount of the charge is confirmed. Please note this applies only to NET AM2S and FESS assessments currently; AM2 assessments are not impacted.
