  • How do I book an AM2 or FICA assessment and / or enquire about assessment times, prices and availability, making changes to bookings etc?

    All AM2 enquiries must be made directly to the assessment centre of your choice from the list of approved NET AM2 centres.  FICA bookings (Glasgow, Edinburgh and Aberdeen) must be made through the FICA Central booking telephone number 0131 445 7972.

  • If the centre I contact has a waiting time for assessment availability, can I go to another centre?

    Yes – candidates are free to contact other assessment centres, however please bear in mind that you may have to travel further or require overnight accommodation in the area of the assessment centre you select.

  • How can I book an assessment re-sit?

    You can re-sit the AM2/FICA assessment at the centre where you took your assessment – or any other centre of your choice. AM2 candidates please contact the centre directly to arrange; FICA candidates please call the central FICA booking number 0131 445 7972.

  • Is there any preparation I can do prior to taking my assessment?

    Yes. See the 'Candidate information & resources' area for general information and details of assessment sections, times and requirements as well as a candidate pre-assessment checklist document for AM2 candidates, which is designed to help you assess your readiness to sit the assessment. Candidates are advised to read and understand all information documents before booking an assessment. We also recommend that candidates are familiar with the IET On-Site Guide and BS7671publications.

  • Can I do a pre-AM2 or pre-FICA training course?

    Many AM2 and FICA centres offer pre-assessment training or refresher courses. To enquire, contact your preferred centre directly.

  • I have not received my results. Where can I enquire?

    Please note that NET cannot discuss candidate results over the phone. To enquire about assessment results, please contact the assessment centre where the assessment was undertaken. Most issues surrounding the non-receipt of results often arise as a result of incorrect email addresses and phone numbers being given at the point of booking.

  • I've received my results and wish to query the marks I’ve been given. How do I go about this?

    Please contact your AM2 assessment centre directly in the first instance.  If you are not satisfied with the assessment outcome and believe that you have grounds for an appeal, please use the Appeals form on the right hand menu of the AM2 area of the site.

  • How much does an assessment or re-sit cost?

  • How do I obtain a replacement or duplicate certificate?

    To request a replacement AM2 certificate, please download the Replacement AM2 Certificate request form. This must be completed and returned (including payment) to the address given on the form. We aim to process certificate requests within one week, and a next-day delivery option is available on the form.
