NET's stakeholders

NET is represented at Board Level by representatives from three key industry organisations:

The ECA, SELECT and UNITE the Union.

  • Electrical Contractors’ Association (ECA)

ECAFounded over 100 years ago, the Electrical Contractors' Association (ECA) is the UK's largest and leading trade association representing electrical, electronic, installation engineering and building services companies.

Recognised by government, commerce and industry as the authoritative voice of the sector, the ECA is among the nation's best resourced representative associations. The Association works closely with government and key national bodies to improve industry standards and procedures. Its comprehensive, progressive and innovative services are highly respected and renowned throughout the industry.

The ECA's membership base encompasses not only installers but manufacturers, distributors and end users, too. Its dedication to best practice and efficient, effective and safe working procedures ensures that its members deliver the very best service across a broad spectrum of commissions.

  • SELECT

SelectAs the authoritative trade association for the Scottish electrotechnical industry, SELECT helps to shape the market environment. By representing the industry to government, SELECT influences legislation to create industry conditions which enable Member firms to both provide a quality service to their clients and operate profitably at the same time.

The representative function involves the influencing of local and central Government (including the European Commission); involvement in setting and monitoring industry standards (such as BS7671 (IEE Wiring Regulations) committees); negotiation in industrial relations and in the contractual, technical and regulatory fields.

SELECT also promotes SELECT Members to clients and specifiers. As a result, SELECT Members are recognised and respected for the safety, quality and technical excellence of their work.

SELECT works in the best interests of Members and their clients directly, and through membership of umbrella bodies in the construction and electrotechnical industries, including the International Electrical Contractors Association (AIE).
