ACHIEVEMENT MEASUREMENT 2 (AM2) CANDIDATE AREA
AM2 is a 3-day practical assessment in which you will undertake a series of timed tasks in specially equipped booths containing typical electrical installation wiring systems. The exercises include installation, inspection and testing and fault-finding. Your work must comply with the current IEE Wiring Regulations and be carried out in line with Health & Safety best practice.

Who should sit the assessment?
Apprentices approaching the end of their training for the NVQ Level 3 and others in England and Wales wishing to accredit practical experience must take the Achievement Measurement 2 (AM2).

Where can I take the AM2 assessment and how do I book?
- The AM2 can only be taken at one of the licensed NET Assessment centres listed on this site
- An assessment place should be booked directly with your preferred AM2 Assessment Centre
About the assessment
AM2 is a 3-day practical assessment in which you will undertake a series of timed tasks in specially equipped booths containing typical electrical installation wiring systems. The exercises include installation, inspection and testing and fault-finding. Your work must comply with the current IEE Wiring Regulations and be carried out in line with Health & Safety best practice.
- You will be permitted to refer to the current edition of the lEE Wiring Regulations (BS 7671), lEE Guidance Note No.3 Inspection and Testing and the lEE On Site Guide (OSG) during the assessments
- All candidates will work on a standard assessment unit, using drawings, block and circuit diagrams and written instructions
Candidate requirements
On the day of your assessment, please:
- bring photographic identification to the centre - this will be checked prior to the start of the assessment
- present yourself at the assessment centre dressed in suitable working clothing and wearing sound footwear
